Your work in scouting running, hiking, and biking trails across Los Angeles will help provide people striving for sobriety to have a healthy stress and energy release. The Role of Blood Donor Ambassador is to provide excellent and enthusiastic customer service and enhance the donor experience. Each blood donor deserves to be treated as an honored guest! Engage with donors to make the donation experience fulfilling and set the stage for a long-term commitment to regular blood donations. Manage Volunteers Who Scout Trails for People in Recovery

Manage volunteers who scout outdoor running, biking, and hiking trails for The Phoenix! The Phoenix believes in fitness as a tool of recovery. You will oversee volunteers who seek out and scout outdoor trails to be utilized by The Phoenix members. This opportunity is great for volunteers who are passionate about fitness, sobriety, recovery from substance abuse, the outdoors, or healing in community! As the Project Leader, you'll be responsible for confirming and following up with volunteer scouts, sharing trail checklists with volunteers, answering any questions from pespective volunteers, managing all communication between volunteers, The Phoenix, and L.A. Works, and checking out a trail or two yourself! Since you'll be managing volunteers remotely, you can do it whenever your schedule allows. The time commitment is estimated to be no more than 4 hours a week. Requirments include attending an L.A. Collect and Donate New and Gently Used Clothes for Project Ropa

Project Ropa is looking for assistance in collecting clothing to distribute to our unhoused neighbors. They are looking for assistance with collecting hygiene products and new and gently used clothing men's clothing donations to distribute to our unhoused neighbors. Items they are seeking include: men's jeans, shorts and cargo pants, men's sneakers, sandals and work boots men's shirts, jackets and sweaters (especially XL+), women's jeans (sizes 12 and up), underwear and socks (new only), backpacks, tote bags, handbags, ball caps, belts, hygiene products (travel-size and full size). Donate Gifts for the Youth at Project Angel Food

Project Angel Food works to ensure those in their community battling critical illnesses are fed and nourished. They deliver nutritious meals, free of charge, to homes throughout Los Angeles County to alleviate hunger, prevent malnutrition, and ensure our clients feel comfort and hope in their everyday lives. Even in these unprecedented times, are a 80% volunteer driven and 85% community supported organization, and continue to be amazed by the individuals and organizations that have help fulfill their mission. This coming holiday season is going to be even more difficult than usual for everyone. they know their clients, whom already face daily challenges to their physical, emotional, and financial well-being, will be especially in need during this time of year. They are looking for individuals, groups, and organizations to donate items (toys, gifts and gift cards, hygiene products, clothing) to this initiative. Last year alone, they sent hundreds of gifts to more than 200 kids. Despite a historically challenging year, their client base has continued to grow nearly 33 percent during the pandemic, they plan to reach over 275 kids, newborn infants to 17 year old, in our 27th annual kid?۪s holiday gift campaign. Donations need to be clean/unopened items an age appropriate; however they have children from newborn through late teens, and will be able to tailor gift packages. Project Angel Food is a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Each season, they have been able to provide gift cards, teddy bears, wreaths, toys, clothes, and more to meet the needs of the hundreds of children in the families of their clients. Any support you could provide to help make this campaign a successful one will be greatly appreciated. Again, they are looking for donations for children from newborn to age 17. Gift packages are to be sent out the week of December 14th, 2020 so they will need all items by the week of December 7th, 2020 in order to properly sort and distribute them with our regular meal delivery routes.

Create Hygiene Kits with Project Ropa!

Project Ropa is looking for assistance in creating hygiene kits to distribute to our unhoused neighbors. This can be done remotely by putting together items in a ziploc bag, tote bag or reusable grocery bag. Please note: Items for the hygiene kits will not be provided by us. We recommend reaching out to your network of friends and family to source the items. All items can be travel-size or full-size. Below are items that would be good to include in the kits: Shampoo Conditioner Soap Body lotion Shaving cream Razor Deodorant Q-Tips Band-Aids Hand sanitizer Disinfecting wipes Travel-size facial tissue pack Toilet paper Lip balm Sunscreen Dental floss Hair bands Toothpaste and toothbrush. CORE is seeking volunteers to support COVID-19 relief work in Los Angeles and Chicago. Volunteer today with CORE and help protect your community. They offer a streamlined training process for volunteers and safety is their first priority, always. CORE is working with local governments and community partners to provide free drive-through COVID-19 testing at various locations throughout the city. These critical test sites are helping to track the spread of this outbreak, flatten the curve, and save lives. This year LA's Finest Walk the Purple Carpet will be held virtually. They will be collaborating with Dallas Finest and collectively raising awareness and funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Their goal is to raise $65,000 per chapter. Assist Unsheltered Population with Accessing Mobile Showers with St. James Episcopal Church

At St. James Episcopal Church, assist our unsheltered population in Mid-City with accessing mobile shower stations provided by Shower of Hope, grab & go meals, and donated clothing. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many people are seeking sanitation, meals, and clothing. Your efforts will help provide them with these necessities. Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: Cleaning: Setting up chairs, sanitizing/wiping them down, picking up trash, cleaning the area. Hallway attendant/monitors bathrooms: Make sure that the area will be secure due to the donation room & kitchen. Hand out ready-made meals. Select clothing from the donation closet in the Church. At the End/Breakdown: throw away the garbage & taking them to the dumpster. If anyone uses the kitchen, wipe down the area & bathroom. Requirements: Volunteers will social distance by keeping 6ft from each other. All personal protective equipment, sanitation, and sanitizing materials are provided. Help Out at the Virtual Walk for Primary Immunodeficiency

Orange County's Virtual Walk Day is all about celebrating the impact that the IDF community can have on the individuals affected by primary immunodeficiency (PI). The Immune Deficiency Foundation improves the diagnosis, treatment, and quality of life of people affected by primary immunodeficiency through fostering a community empowered by advocacy, education, and research. It doesn't matter where you are located, you can all walk and raise awareness for those who need it most. While you walk in the safety and comfort of your own neighborhood on Saturday, November 14, don't forget to take pictures and post on social media.
