Raise Awareness and Walk the Purple Carpet for Cystic Fibrosis

Come volunteer for a good cause! The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is holding its annual LA's Finest - Walk the Purple Carpet event at Liason Restaurant + Lounge in West Hollywood on Friday, Novemberember 8th from 5 pm to 11 pm. The Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation honors a select group of men and women from cities or regions across the country that are committed to raising awareness for those living with cystic fibrosis and advocating for a cure. Volunteers are needed for the registration/check-in area and to assist with the silent auction portion at the end of the night. Any volunteer under the age of 18 will need to bring the Volunteer Agreement & Release for Minors form found on L.A. Works website Q&A section. Please wear business casual and slightly dressier attire. Please be advised parking is a little tricky in this area. A public garage is nearby and street parking may also be available.

Help Revitalize the Zev Yaroslavsky L.A. River Greenway Trail

Volunteers will be helping to revitalize the native plant restoration sites along the Zev Yaroslavsky L.A. River Greenway in Studio City in order to create sustainable habitat for birds and other wildlife and a beautiful space for the local community to enjoy. The Zev Yaroslavsky L.A. River Greenway Trail. Volunteers will be helping both local birds and the local community, and will have a unique opportunity to connect with the land here in Los Angeles. You'll be weeding, watering, mulching, and picking up trash throughout the native plant restoration sites along the Zev Yaroslavsky trail. Gloves and tools will be provided, although volunteers are welcome to bring their own if preferred. Volunteers are working outdoors, so please dress accordingly. Be sure to bring lots of water, sun protection, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty! Remember to wear closed-toe shoes and dress in layers. There will be light refreshments, but volunteers are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle as well.
