Volunteer and/or Donate to Alexandria House’s Free Shopping Holiday Party!

Alexandria House Free Shopping Holiday Party welcomes their past and current resident families to celebrate the holidays with them. Everyone gets a visit with Ms. Claus, a chance to pick out presents, make crafts, and have a good time! They are looking for volunteers to help welcome the families, run craft and game tables, organize and supervise activities, and have fun celebrating the holidays season! Alexandria House is having a toy drive for their holiday parties where they give out gifts to more than 800 (!) kids over two days. They're asking that the toys do not promote war/violence and that they are ethnically diverse as to accurately represent the populations at Alexandria House. They also often have a shortage of gifts for their teens; the easiest way to help with that is gift cards! Please drop your donations off at 436 S. Alexandria Ave. (yellow house) from Nov 26 to Dec 15. They couldn't do this without your support, thank you! They are looking for volunteers to help welcome the families, run craft and game tables, organize and supervise activities, and have fun celebrating the holidays season with us. Lend a Hand with Connections For Children at their Holiday Angels Program

Help parents select toys and books for their children and wrap them as gifts. Each year Connections For Children collects holiday gifts for the children of low-income families in our community to help make their holiday wishes come true. Last year, they collected gifts for 1,000 children up to age 18 whose families live below or near to the poverty level and are enrolled in their child care subsidy programs. Local businesses can participate by hosting donation drives for our Holiday Angels Program. In turn, they make sure that these gifts are distributed to children in our community. On December 15th, 17th and 18th, families will be able to select gifts at our Santa Monica office. You can also participate as a volunteer at the event, by helping parents select toys and books for their children and wrapping gifts. click here to sign up:https://www.laworks.com/opportunity/a0C1N00000a8t7oUAA
