Donate Thanksgiving Food at Alexandria House

Alexandria House, a wonderful transitional shelter for women and children, is asking for food donations for Thanksgiving. Your donations are transformed into beautiful food baskets given to their large community of past and current residents and neighborhood families who are at-risk women, youths, and families. Donation items they're asking for are traditional Thanksgiving foods such as turkeys, yams, cranberry sauce, pies, etc. Please drop the donations off at their office located at 426 S. Alexandria Ave. (yellow house) by Monday 11/25. They couldn't do this without your support, THANK YOU! For more details, please contact Anh Le at anh@alexandriahouse.org or (213) 381-2649.

Volunteer and/or Donate to Alexandria House’s “Free Shopping Holiday Party!

Come celebrate with Alexandria House at their "Free Shopping Holiday Party" on Saturday December 14! They are looking for volunteers to help celebrate the holidays with past and current resident families from Alexandria House. Everyone gets to visit with Ms. Claus, a chance to pick out a present, make crafts, and have a good time! They are looking for volunteers to help welcome the families, run craft and game tables, organize and supervise activities, and have fun celebrating the holiday season! Alexandria House is also having a toy drive in order to give out gifts to more than 800 (!) kids over two days. They're asking that the toys do not promote war/violence and that they are ethnically diverse as to accurately represent the populations that Alexandria House serves. They also often have a shortage of gifts for their teens; the easiest way to help with that is gift cards! Please drop your donations off at 426 S. Alexandria Ave. (yellow house) from November 29 to December 13. They couldn't do this without your support, THANK YOU! For information, please contact Anh Le at anh@alexandriahouse.org or (213) 381-2649.
