Adopt-A-Family for the Holidays with Families Forward Learning Center

Looking to make the holidays brighter for a family in need? Consider adopting a family from Families Forward Learning Center! Adopt-A-Family is their annual event to find donors who can sponsor a low-income family facing isolation during the holidays. Many of the families they serve cannot afford the weight of purchasing gifts and a meal for the holidays, so they are looking for donors who would be willing to support a family during the holiday season! You choose the size of the family or families you would like to adopt, purchase and wrap the gifts and come drop the gifts off at their location. You will receive a thank you card, photo of the family/families you adopted, and a tax receipt for your donation. You can also order gifts online and have them sent there if you are too far away to come drop off! You can adopt as part of a group, with your company, or as an individual. This is a great opportunity for groups of friends, organizations or sports teams to come together! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Sarah Kimbrough - sarah@familiesforwardlc.org or (626) 792-2687 x121 If you are ready to adopt, please fill out this form: https://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/ap?ap=911805613

Donate Gifts to the Special Needs Network, Inc.

In Decemberember, Special Needs Network's "Annual Family To Family Christmas Care Exchange" will open to over 1,000 families with special needs children, their siblings, and peers in underserved communities, and allow them the opportunity to attend a community holiday celebration.During this event, Special Needs Network provides food, clothing, and toys to these families with limited resources while hosting a program that recognizes the community advocates and volunteers for children with developmental disabilities. They provide a short educational program for the parents focusing on autism awareness, information about available services, and access and advocacy in the South Los Angeles community. These special needs children each receive a holiday toy and participate in organized games, arts and crafts, and inclusive play with typical children. This unique forum is a valuable first step for many special needs families on the path to advocacy, independence, and the support they need. As you can probably imagine supplies are crucial components to running a successful event, especially on a limited donated budget. They especially need unwrapped toys for boys and girls of all ages. Together with your help, Special Needs Network will provide an amazing holiday experience for deserving kids! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact them at (323) 975-4552 or connie@specialneedsnetwork.org.
