This volunteering opportunity is for those who have a varying schedule, don’t particularly have an affinity for cooking, and love to show off their organizational or creative skills. You may help on an as-needed basis in Project Angel Food's offices. There are various projects, including mailings, donor and client outreach, assembling gift bags for events, decorating client birthday bags or meal delivery bags, making Feed Bead bracelets, packaging Project Angel Food’s Do Gooding Good Cookies, and countless other tasks requiring nimble and creative hands.

Help Make Snack Bags for PATH’s Homelessness Outreach Team

Help PATH build relationships with neighbors experiencing homelessness! This a perfect opportunity to get a group together and get directly involved in making a difference! This opportunity would involve you or your group hosting a drive or purchasing non-perishable snacks, and then assembling the items into brown paper bags. PATH street outreach teams distribute the Snack Bags to their neighbors experiencing homelessness. Please note: Drop offs must be scheduled in advance.

North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry distributes more than 1,300+ bags of food monthly as the number of people coming to the North Hollywood Interfaith Food Pantry has significantly increased. Ascencia is always looking for folks to help with light maintenance, cleaning, or handiwork at their access center or at the homes of their housed clients. Let them know you are willing and able to help with this, and they'll reach out when the need arises.

Host a Blanket Drive for Ascencia’s Clients

No matter the weather, blankets are an essential item to give to Ascencia's clients and for their Outreach Team to pass out to individuals living on the street. You can collect new bed sheets, comforters, throws, quilts, etc. Some volunteers even buy fabric and make their own tie blankets!

Host a Clothing & Undergarment Donation Drive for Ascencia’s Clients

Donate clothing to Ascencia. Often when new clients arrive to their Access Center, the only clothes they own are what they are wearing. Access Center would love to welcome their clients with a fresh new set of clothes to wear while they wash their clothes and to make them feel more comfortable. Currently, they have high need for underwear. New items only please.

Host a Food Pantry Drive for Ascencia’s Clients

Donate dry goods, canned food, and breakfast items for Ascencia's food pantry in their Access Center. This food helps to supplement meals in their emergency shelter and help their housed clients with immediate needs. Items must be unexpired and unopened.

Host a Welcome Home Starter Kit Drive for Ascencia’s Clients

Welcome Ascencia's clients as they move into their new homes by providing them with a home starter kit. Supplies for home starter kits can include plates, utensils, cups (dining); toilet paper, bathroom cleaning supplies, soap, shampoo, conditioner, towels (bathroom); laundry detergent, laundry basket, fabric softener (laundry); pots and pans, dishwashing soap, sponges, cooking utensils (kitchen).

Ascencia is asking for volunteers to make brown bag lunches for clients in the shelter to supplement meals not covered by guest chef, or for street outreach to pass out to individuals on the streets. Lunches can include PB&J sandwiches, fruit, chips, protein bars, water, etc.
