Donate Wishlist Items to the Foster Youth at Assistance League of Los Angeles

Foster children are frequently moved from one home to another during a crisis with only the clothes on their backs. Foster Children’s Resource Center, a program of Assistance League of Los Angeles, provides emergency clothing and necessities to children referred by the Department of Children and Family Services. Located in Northridge, their center gives each child new school clothing, a jacket, pajamas, socks, underwear, personal care items, a backpack, school supplies, a book, and a toy. Each child is given personal attention and treated with dignity and respect, helping them to feel special. Social workers, foster parents and family members report that after visiting the Center, children experience a boost in self-esteem and improved school attendance and performance. How can you help? The Center is in need of brand new sports balls (e.g. soccer balls, basket balls, Nerf balls) and brand new infant and toddler toys (e.g. baby dolls, light up toys, Fisher Price classics). To learn more about the Foster Children’s Resource Center, click here for a video or visit https://assistanceleaguela.org/program/foster-childrens-resource-center/. Donate Special Gifts to Ensure Hillsides’ Young Clients Participate in Off-site Field Trips

Holidays hold a special meaning for all of us, but for vulnerable children who suffer from emotional distress, the holidays can represent an opportunity for renewed hope and healing. You can be a part of this new beginning by giving the kids at Hillsides a holiday experience theyll never forget! For Hillsides residential children who remain on campus for the entire winter vacation, the holidays can seem unbearably long. Off-campus outings are always a welcome treat for the children, especially during the holidays. Surprise these youngsters with movie tickets, passes to kid-friendly activities, theme parks, gift certificates to fast-food restaurants or underwrite the cost of a special off-campus adventure. Please call Laura Kelso to help or for more details. (Holiday Activities)

Donate to Support Divine Mercy Orphanage – The Children at the Border’s Angels to Angels Program

In a world of vitriol and division, live scores of orphaned children in the border region of Tecate. The boys and girls of Divine Mercy Orphanage are professionally cared for by the love and dedication of the Daughters of Divine Mercy and the staff and volunteers. Love is abundant but so is uncertainty, fear and the anxiety of our times. The children could use a lift over the holidays with donations of school supplies, clothing and of course, toys. The staff could use household supplies and hygiene products, as well as funding to complete necessary facility requirements and repairs. You can donate items at the campus of Immaculate Conception School. Also, direct support of funds can be contributed to the McKenna Foundation, Attn: Angels to Angels Project, PO Box 4022, Whittier, CA 90607. Please spread the word, and the love!
