Volunteer at The Fob with Operation Gratitude

Operation Gratitude has tasks appropriate for all levels of ability. Available tasks are based on production needs which may include quality controlling Battalion Buddies, quality controlling and/or bagging Paracord Bracelets, and assembling Greeting Card Brigade packets and handwritten letters. Volunteers ages 13 years and older are welcome to serve at The FOB. Sack lunches should consist of... Ham, turkey, or beef sandwich with light mayo/mustard (To be cautious of nut allergies, The Midnight Mission requests no peanut butter and jelly sandwiches please) 2+ side snacks (chips, fruit, granola bars, cheese, etc) No need to include beverages or napkins (those are covered by the Mission) SPECIAL NOTES: In addition to your sack lunches, any donations of the following items would be greatly appreciated. Living Water Worship Center is a non-profit organization that supports the community with food and mobile showers at their facility. What You'll be Doing: Volunteers will be assisting with unloading food from trucks, Stocking shelves and sorting/packing food, and Distributing food to the community. Sort and Distribute Groceries with North Valley Caring Services

North Valley Caring Services provides food to more than 2000 families and individuals in need. They are currently holding drive-thru distributions on Thursdays and Fridays. Volunteer Duties: Duties vary based on need, but typically include packing boxes with groceries, loading groceries into vehicles as they drive-thru, traffic control, pantry set-up and break down. Immanuel Presbyterian Church - Currently, more than 2,500 families come through Immanuel's doors every week to get life sustaining food and supplies from their pantry. What You'll be Doing: Greeting clients, packing food bags, and giving out food to clients. Please note: This is a client-choice pantry where clients pick their own food and volunteers place the food inside the clients' bags as they walk by. Load Food Into Cars with Project 29:11

Project 29:11 currently serves 250 clients per week. They hosts a drive-thru distribution every Friday from 1 pm - 3 pm (or until food runs out). Volunteer Duties: Volunteers are needed to help load food boxes into vehicles as they drive by. Outdoor Volunteer Day at Abalone Cove Reserve with Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy

Join Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy at Abalone Cove Reserve for an Outdoor Volunteer Day! There will be planting native shrubs and/or removing invasive weeds in order to improve habitat for protected wildlife species. This event will meet at the entrance of Abalone Cove Reserve: 5970 Palos Verdes Dr. South, Rancho Palos Verdes, CA 90275. They will be working outdoors, so please wear closed-toed shoes, and be sure to bring bug spray, sun protection, drinking water and a snack. Please also be prepared for mildly strenuous hiking to reach planting locations. Please note that events may be cancelled due to weather conditions. All volunteers under 18 must have a parent or guardian sign and complete their release before they can volunteer. Volunteers under 16 should be accompanied by an adult.
