Please join the LA Food Bank in their volunteer day at the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood. Volunteers are needed to help sort, inspect, and repackage donated food items from local food drives. Help them help those in need by donating your time to fight hunger in the community. IMPORTANT THINGS FOR EACH VOLUNTEER TO KNOW:Please arrive 15-20 minutes early to check-in. The Lucky Duck Foundation's Food and Water Initiative has distributed more than 800,000 meals to San Diego’s unsheltered neighbors since May 2020. Volunteers help by sorting boxes of food and water for homeless outreach teams to distribute to more than 1,000 individuals living on the streets. Volunteers also sort and distribute items like face shields, masks, hygiene kits, EMPWR Coats, and clothing. On rare instances, volunteers will be asked to pack the meals in an assembly line. Volunteers are necessary to keep the program running, so please consider signing up! Volunteer events take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:30-8:45 a.m. at our distribution sites in Chula Vista (465 C Street, Chula Vista, CA) and Miramar (6225 Marindustry Drive, San Diego, CA). Organize and Pack Food Donations with CityHeART

On Thursday mornings, CityHeART organizes all of the food donations that they have received during the week, and pack them into grocery bags for between 60-65 households every week! Most of them are picked up from the Resource Hub, and then approximately 20-25 households benefit from home delivery provided by their friends at Grow2Zero!
