Support the Alexandria House Office Staff
Alexandria House is a transitional home for women and children located in Los Angeles, California. Since 1996, they have provided safe and supportive housing for women and children in the process of moving from emergency shelters to economic stability and permanent housing. Work alongside the main office staff with reinitiating the acceptance of gently used items for the La Tiendita (Thrift Store) and Data entry, filing and sorting as the ever growing needs of the organization and community. Support the Weekly Pet Food Pantries at Michelson Found Animal
Volunteers aged 13 and older can support the Weekly Pet Food Pantries by helping pack food bags or distributing dog and cat food to families in need across various LA communities. Volunteers must be flexible and willing to assist with a variety of tasks as assigned, while maintaining a friendly and compassionate attitude toward all people and their pets. The Weekly Pet Food Pantries provide free pet food in partnership with several community organizations, ensuring resources reach those who require assistance. Note that volunteers aged 13-15 must volunteer alongside a guardian.

Beginning 11/1-11/30, Crete Academy's Adopt A Child donor/sponsor page is opened. They are looking for organizations or individuals who would like to Adopt A Child for Christmas from Crete Academy. The link is used to register to be a donor/sponsor and the specific child information will be sent once the form is received.
Volunteer as a Telephone Angel for Project Angel Food
The isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic has emphasized the loneliness of many of those that Project Angel Food serves, as well as some of their volunteers. The Telephone Angels program adds human contact to the lives of both their clients and volunteers through regularly scheduled phone calls to check in, share updates and add brightness to the day. The commitment of the volunteer helps to build a friendly bond and give the client and volunteer something to look forward to each week.
Help Whip Up Some Lunch for Vets at PATH Everyday
PATH provides meals to their residents in interim housing. When groups sign up to provide meals, it helps PATH focus its resources on providing housing and support services for their residents. Their male veterans in West LA love to have home-cooked meals from volunteers. Shifts are currently available at their West LA site. They understand not everyone is comfortable with on-site volunteering. If you want to support the male veterans, ask them about sponsoring a meal through a meal delivery service or catering!
Prepare and Serve Lunch Meals with Union Rescue Mission at Angeles House
Help prepare and serve lunch at Union Rescue Missions Angeles House (South LA)! Angeles House is their new campus that opened in April 2022. Angeles House is the home of about 86 families in South Los Angeles. Help them prepare and serve breakfast meals, to those that are sheltered within their facility. You must be at least 14 years to volunteer in the kitchen. Volunteers under the age of 18 are required to have an adult chaperone present. The chaperone also must be registered.
Support Downtown Women’s Onsite Day Center Mid-day Shift on Fridays
The Day Center is the point of entry for women coming through DWC's doors: it provides access to three meals a day; clean bathrooms and showers, changes of clothes, an address for individuals to receive mail, case management; and medical services. Day Center volunteers support our Day Center team by welcoming participants; helping distribute donations, mail, toiletry items, and meals; participating in and/or leading enrichment activities; and helping create a safe, welcoming space for the women receiving services in our community.

Help prepare and serve breakfast at Union Rescue Missions kitchen! At this time they are serving our guests indoors and their unsheltered guests are receiving grab and go meals. They cannot do it - without YOU! The age requirement to volunteer in the kitchen is 14 years old. Volunteers under the age of 18 are required to have an adult chaperone with them at all times. The adult chaperone also must register.
Help at Downtown Women’s Center Onsite Kitchen Early Morning Shift on Fridays
DWC's Kitchen served over 260,000 meals in 2020 alone: our incredible Kitchen team serves three nutritious meals seven days a week and offers an important space for women to connect and to share a meal with each other. Kitchen volunteers help with meal preparation (e.g. chopping and measuring); help keep the kitchen clean and organized (e.g. wiping counters, organizing the food pantry and cabinets); and serve our delicious meals to participants. Kitchen volunteering is a great fit for volunteers who like working in a team while also interacting with DWC participants.

The Pet Food Kit Team makes pet food kits for hungry dogs and cats at home and delivers them to the First Christian Church. Sign up to help out.
