Volunteer and Donate to Project Ropa

Project Ropa's mobile clothing closet takes to the streets of Los Angeles delivering hope as well as clean clothing, shoes and hygiene kits. They operate in Echo Park on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Tuesday of each month. They work in tandem with mobile showers as well as other service providers. Volunteers will help with distributing clothing and personal hygiene essentials directly to those in need at their service locations. Project Ropa staff will be on-site at all times during services. All volunteers must be at least 18 years old. Help stock their mobile closet! They are currently in need of the following items: - Men's and women's underwear (new only) - Men's and women's sneakers and boots - Travel size hygiene products - Men's pants - Men's and women's hoodies and coats - Adult size winter gloves - Men's belts - Men's T-shirts and thermal shirts. Volunteer at Lucky Duck Foundation

The Lucky Duck Food and Water Initiative has distributed over 1.4 million meals to San Diego’s unsheltered neighbors since May 2020. Volunteers help pack, sort, and load food and water for homeless outreach teams to distribute throughout San Diego County. Volunteers also sort and distribute items like face shields, masks, hygiene kits, EMPWR Coats, and clothing. Volunteers are critical to making the program happen, so please consider signing up! Volunteer bagging shifts take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 12:00-3:00pm at the San Diego Rescue Mission Warehouse (212 East 26th Street, National City, CA 91950). Note: though it is most helpful if you can volunteer for 3 hours, you do not need to sign up for all 3 hours, you can volunteer in 1-hour increments. Join the Bolsa Chica Conservancy at their weekly Live Animal Feedings to witness firsthand the feeding behavior of California native animals! If you're looking to get out of the house and learn about local animals, join them in person for their weekly live animal feeding! Here you will be able to learn more about the animals at the Interpretive Center, including snakes, sharks, crabs, and much more! During the feeding, they will cover topics like feeding habits and the general biology and anatomy of reptiles and marine animals! This is a free event but donations are always welcome to help with the cost of caring for and feeding their animals. They hope to see you there!
