Watch Bolsa Chica Conservancy’s Live Animal Feeding

Join the Bolsa Chica Conservancy at their weekly Live Animal Feedings to witness firsthand the feeding behavior of California native animals! If you're looking to get out of the house and learn about local animals, join them in person for their weekly live animal feeding! Here you will be able to learn more about the animals at the Interpretive Center, including snakes, sharks, crabs, and much more! During the feeding, they will cover topics like feeding habits and the general biology and anatomy of reptiles and marine animals! This is a free event but donations are always welcome to help with the cost of caring for and feeding their animals. They hope to see you there! Spaces are very limited due to COVID-19 social distancing protocols, so please contact [email protected] if you can no longer attend. *This presentation may also be recorded and live-streamed on their YouTube channel and Facebook Live. Your attendance at this event is your consent for the Bolsa Chica Conservancy to use your image and likeness for use in print, media, and promotional purposes.* This is an observational event, not a volunteer event. ***Please note that the snake feedings involve live mice.***

Assist with Kitchen Duties and Prepping Meals – Saturday Dinner Shift

Volunteering in the kitchen can be a great way to give back to your community. Whether you're helping to prepare meals for those in need, or assisting with kitchen duties such as food serving, bussing, or greeting, your time and effort can make a significant impact on those transitioning away from homelessness. Please keep in mind that you will be asked to also tend to the dining area where you will interact with the participants that LAFH serves. Provide quality service by serving nourishing meals for those who may not otherwise have access to them. You can also help to create a welcoming and inclusive environment where people can gather and connect over a warm meal. Dress code: Pants, closed-toed shoes, and clean shirt. All volunteers will be wearing a hairnet and gloves. Volunteers need to be 18 plus.

Light The Night in the OC with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society

At The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light The Night folks gather as a community to celebrate, honor, and remember those touched by blood cancers. Friends, families, schools, corporate teams, and sponsors join together to bring light to the darkness of cancer. The funds raised by this community fund life saving research, advocacy and support for blood cancer patients and their families. Join them in the fight to cure cancer! It is highly recommended that all blood cancer patients or other immunocompromised individuals check with their healthcare provider before attending this event. While at the event, they urge the community to respect anyone's choice to continue to take precautions like masking or social distancing.

Help prepare and serve lunch at Union Rescue Missions kitchen! At this time they are serving our guests indoors and their unsheltered guests are receiving grab and go meals. They cannot do it - without YOU! The age requirement to volunteer in the kitchen is 14 years old. Volunteers under the age of 18 are required to have an adult chaperone with them at all times. The adult chaperone also must register.

These individuals show exemplary leadership, are active in their communities, and have excelled in their profession or business. The professional individuals who participate will be given the opportunity to display their community involvement and highlight their professional achievements, while raising funds to help support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Each honoree who makes a commitment to help the Foundation make CF stand for "Cure Found," will be recognized for their career achievements and fundraising efforts at the Finest Finale celebration at The Garland Hotel in Los Angeles, CA.

Volunteer at URM Thrift Boutique with Union Rescue Mission

Volunteers will provide support at the Covina Thrift Store by sorting through donations, cleaning & organizing the facility, and other various tasks delegated by the Thrift Store Manager. Previously held biweekly as "2W@10," these special events are held from 10:00am Ð 11:30am each Wednesday where we do fun activities to help local nonprofits. And what's extra special about these Wednesday events? Our guests of honor are wonderful and fun volunteers with some developmental challenges who want to give back and help others, in groups and as individuals. The accessible activities we'll do on Wednesdays are specifically designed with these guests in mind, so that everyone can participate and have fun volunteering - because we believe very strongly that absolutely everyone has something to give.
