Door of Hope LOVE's to celebrate their kids who live at their facility, and what better way than on their birthday! Birthday Angels purchase a gift on a child’s wishlist, wrap it up in bows and love, and deliver it to the Community Center along with a hand-written card. Chaperone a Field Trip with Door of Hope

Throughout the year, Door of Hope's Kids Program offers exciting field trips to various locations. Activities include cooling off at a pool, enjoying movies at the theater, and marveling at the sea creatures at the aquarium. To volunteer as a chaperone, you must be at least 18 years old, complete a free Live Scan background check, and fill out the Application.

Mentor the Youth with Door of Hope

Make a lasting impact by mentoring a Door of Hope teenager. You’ll be matched with a youth based on shared career ambitions and personal interests, fostering a meaningful connection that can shape their future. The mentorship duration is a minimum of three hours a month for four months with the option to continue. Teach A Life Skills Class at Door of Hope

Teach A Life Skills Class at Door of Hope. Life skill classes empower parents to develop skills and knowledge that will sustain them once they move into homes of their own. Class topics include emotions, parenting, healthy relationships, coping skills, and cultural differences. They’ll provide the curriculum; you facilitate the class. Help Inner City Arts with Studio Support

Inner-City Arts, widely regarded as one of the nation’s most effective arts education providers, is an oasis of learning, achievement, and creativity in the heart of Skid Row. They consider it a vital part of their mission to be a community partner in the work of creating a safer, healthier Los Angeles. Support their mission by becoming a Studio volunteer and work alongside teaching artists to support K-12 students in one of Inner City Arts' seven studios: Visual Arts, Ceramics, Creativity Lab, Media Arts, Drama, Dance, and Music. For fall terms, they welcome studio volunteers who are able to commit to at least a two-hour session once per week for up to 15 weeks.

My Friend's Place annual Holiday in-kind drive is a way for young people ages 12 to 25 who are impacted by homelessness can enjoy themselves and receive both presents and essentials. Their biggest need is donations of items on their Holiday Wishlist, linked below, as they want to provide young people with as much as possible while also stocking up on items for distribution throughout the next year.
