Project 29:11 currently serves 250 clients per week. They hosts a drive-thru distribution every Friday from 1 pm - 3 pm (or until food runs out). Volunteer Duties: Volunteers are needed to help load food boxes into vehicles as they drive by. Requirements & Skills: Must be 18 years or older, Must wear mask, Comfortable working indoors and outdoors, Be able to lift up to 30 lbs, and Be able to stand for long periods of time. Immanuel Presbyterian Church - Currently, more than 2,500 families come through Immanuel's doors every week to get life sustaining food and supplies from their pantry. What You'll be Doing: Greeting clients, packing food bags, and giving out food to clients. Please note: This is a client-choice pantry where clients pick their own food and volunteers place the food inside the clients' bags as they walk by. Volunteer Duties: Duties vary based on need, but typically include packing boxes with groceries, loading groceries onto vehicles as they drive-thru, traffic control, pantry set-up and break down. Volunteers are needed to help maintain crowd control and social distancing, and distribute food boxes to seniors in need in the community! The food boxes consist of shelf-stable staples such as milk, beans, grains, and canned fruits and vegetables. These boxes go to an average of 28,000 seniors every month at 146 sites throughout Los Angeles County! LA Food Bank is proud to facilitate the largest CSFP in the country and are eternally grateful for the dedicated volunteers who make this work possible! PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS: Be able to lift up to 30 pounds, Participate the entire shift, Be at least 18 years old.
