Make A Difference at Big Sunday’s TM@10 Event
TM@10 (Thursday Morning @ 10) is not only one of our favorite programs, but it’s one of our most popular, too! We meet every Thursday morning, from 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM. And we host hands-on projects to help local nonprofits. At TM@10 we’ve assembled birthday gifts for folks in shelters; written letters to soldiers stationed overseas; packed backpacks for ex-gang members starting college; made quilts for preemies; and about 1000 other things. Even better – and in classic Big Sunday fashion – it’s a great way for people to meet new people, work together, and enjoy some laughs while helping someone else.

Hold a community event at one of USHS' 16 locations to help bring residents and the community together. By fostering one-on-one relationships and social networks, USHS hopes to combat isolation to support wellness and community stability. Activities can include art sessions, a book club, pizza & prayer.
Become a Youth Camp Assistant at Rediscover Center
Join Rediscover Center's amazing facilitators at camp held every Winter Break as a Youth Camp Assistant. This role allows you to support hands-on programs and help bring creativity to youth by utilizing and repurposing materials that would have otherwise been thrown away. You will assist campers in making everything from cardboard puppets to working go-carts while fostering independent and creative thinking.

Join Rediscover Center for a crafting session! As a Weekend Family Crafting Assistant, you will help bring creativity and sustainability to the community by supporting hands-on programs. Volunteers assist families and individuals in engaging their creativity using sustainable and repurposed materials, fostering a unique approach to art and problem-solving.

Become a Tool Training or Open Studio Assistant at Rediscover Center to assist youth and adults in learning woodworking and how to operate tools safely. In this hands-on role, you will help community members gain life skills while they use repurposed materials to create projects ranging from simple crafts to complex constructions like go-carts and roller coasters.
Become a Materials Warehouse Sorter at Rediscover Center
Volunteer as a Materials Warehouse Sorter to help Rediscover Center organize, clean, and shelve the vast array of donated materials they receive. By sorting these items, which would have otherwise been thrown away, you ensure crafters and students have all the necessary supplies to engage in creative and sustainable art and maker education.
Become a Community Event Assistant at Rediscover Center
Volunteer as a Community Event Assistant to help run the Rediscover Center's booths at local festivals and farmers’ markets, guiding attendees in hands-on crafting. This public-facing role allows you to engage with the community and promote creativity and sustainability by demonstrating how to use repurposed and donated materials in art projects.
Help Project Angel Food with Office Projects
This volunteering opportunity is for those who have a varying schedule, don’t particularly have an affinity for cooking, and love to show off their organizational or creative skills. You may help on an as-needed basis in Project Angel Food's offices. There are various projects, including mailings, donor and client outreach, assembling gift bags for events, decorating client birthday bags or meal delivery bags, making Feed Bead bracelets, packaging Project Angel Food’s Do Gooding Good Cookies, and countless other tasks requiring nimble and creative hands.
Help Inner City Arts with Studio Support
Inner-City Arts, widely regarded as one of the nation’s most effective arts education providers, is an oasis of learning, achievement, and creativity in the heart of Skid Row. They consider it a vital part of their mission to be a community partner in the work of creating a safer, healthier Los Angeles. Support their mission by becoming a Studio volunteer and work alongside teaching artists to support K-12 students in one of Inner City Arts' seven studios: Visual Arts, Ceramics, Creativity Lab, Media Arts, Drama, Dance, and Music. For fall terms, they welcome studio volunteers who are able to commit to at least a two-hour session once per week for up to 15 weeks.

Volunteers will support all aspects of event setup, facilitation and breakdown alongside the A Place Called Hometeam to help create a welcoming, festive environment as APCH welcomes hundreds of South Central families and neighbors to the APCH campus for their annual Thanksgiving event. In addition to celebrating community, this event provides hundreds of turkeys and grocery bags with all the Thanksgiving fixings for members of their South Central community. They are encouraging the community to get involved in celebrating this holiday season with those at PATH residences who may need an extra support and encouragement during this especially trying time. By hosting a holiday celebration, you have the opportunity to: Sponsor a meal/snack to provide for community celebration,Bring cookies and decorate them in holiday-inspired themes (approx. $250-$275), Bring Holiday decorations and decorate common room of PATH building, Host a holiday movie night and bring popcorn and treats for guests, Bring group games (Bingo, card games, trivia, etc.) to play with residents, Organize a raffle-prize giveaway. Date/Time: December 1st – December 12th – TBD based on site and group/individual availability.
