Volunteer with AHEAD With Horses

AHEAD With Horses is devoted to improving the quality of life of disabled, disadvantaged, and special needs children through equine therapy using vaulting also known as gymnastics on a horse. Whether it’s seeing a smile from an otherwise “non-responsive” child, or watching someone taking their first steps, the hundreds of children they serve each year regularly hit major physical, mental, and emotional milestones—gifts that last a lifetime. Volunteers play a very important role at AHEAD With Horses, and they wouldn’t be as successful as they are today without them. They have more than 300 volunteers each year from all parts of Los Angeles County, many of which return to them on a regular basis. VOLUNTEERS MUST: Be 12 years of age or older for general volunteer work. Please visit: https://aheadwithhorsesla.org/volunteer/

Donate to AHEAD With Horses Inc.

In December 2017 AHEAD With Horses purchased property to develop into their permanent location for their nonprofit developmental therapeutic vaulting program for children with disabilities. Here they are 6 years later, due to general delays and then the worldwide pandemic, still waiting to complete development and move to their forever home. Recent progress has them nearing plan approval, but to keep the momentum going they desperately need funds to complete the development and move operations. Won't you join them in bringing their dream to fruition and make a donation today? AHEAD With Horses is celebrating 55 years of serving the Los Angeles community and needs your help to keep serving for another 55 years or more. Donations can be made online at their website: awhla.org or through our Forever Home Campaign here: https://givebutter.com/AWHforeverhome Thank you for any donation you are able to give! Every dollar helps them!

Doante to Support Bolsa Chica Conservancy

Wetlands are one of many habitats that encompass a watershed and provide a crucial connection between land and the ocean. They also provide functions, known as ecosystem services, that are vital not only to the native and migratory species that inhabit them, but to humans as well. Some of these important functions include: mitigation of climate change by trapping carbon dioxide (carbon sink), serving as a buffer zone during flooding events, maintaining water supplies by replenishing aquifers and filtering water that passes through, and providing essential habitat for plants and wildlife. You can help protect the Bolsa Chica wetlands, its threatened species and their habitats, while at the same time supporting the education of thousands of K-12 students with your donation to the Bolsa Chica Conservancy today. Your support of the Bolsa Chica Conservancy’s STEM-based educational programs on wetland science, watersheds, coastal ecology, environmental sustainability, and habitat restoration will make a world of difference to students in need.
