Give The Gift of Sports Equipment to Joy Drive and Press-Telegram’s “Let’s Play Ball”

The goal of our annual Joy Drive and Press-Telegram's "Let's Play Ball" ball drive is to provide a gift to each Boys & Girls Clubs of Long Beach member who would have otherwise gone without and balls to our sports programs. Toys and balls will be collected throughout the month of October through early December from corporate partners and supporters. We serve youth ages 6 - 18 years old, so we are looking for toys that fit that age range.

Join the Bolsa Chica Conservancy at their weekly Live Animal Feedings to witness firsthand the feeding behavior of California native animals! If you're looking to get out of the house and learn about local animals, join them in person for their weekly live animal feeding! Here you will be able to learn more about the animals at the Interpretive Center, including snakes, sharks, crabs, and much more! During the feeding, they will cover topics like feeding habits and the general biology and anatomy of reptiles and marine animals! This is a free event but donations are always welcome to help with the cost of caring for and feeding their animals. They hope to see you there! The professional individuals who participate will be given the opportunity to display their community involvement and highlight their professional achievements, while raising funds to help support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Each honoree who makes a commitment to help the Foundation make CF stand for "Cure Found," will be recognized for their career achievements and fundraising efforts at the Finest Finale celebration at The Garland Hotel in Los Angeles, CA.

Donate Toys for Underserved Kids at Wilson Park

We are supporting the skateboard population, because we found out some are homeless, in foster care, dysfunctional households, group homes, transitional housing. ICCDYF want then to have a happy holiday. We will host a toy giveaway for the skateboarders at Wilson Park. We will have a skateboard competition, with food, prizes and awards. Fight Food Insecurity by Supporting Karsh Center’s 17th Annual Big Give

On November 24, 2024, the Karsh Center will once again welcome our community for the 17th Annual Big Give. Through this special program, we will distribute 1,000 Thanksgiving meal kits to our registered guests, impacting over 4,000 individuals in our community and ensuring they experienced the warmth and nourishment of a Thanksgiving meal.The Big Give is impossible without the support of our generous donors, volunteers, and sponsors. Each gift of $100 can help us ensure a family has a full Thanksgiving meal. Please help us support our neighbors experiencing food insecurity!

Volunteers will assemble food packages for over 29,000 low income seniors, women with infants, and children in Los Angeles County. Volunteer at Hollywood Food Coalition’s Thanksgiving Dinner

This upcoming Thanksgiving Day, Hollywood Food Coalition will host our Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner where we will serve a seated turkey meal with all the fixings for 300 of our community members experiencing homelessness or food insecurity. Hundreds of volunteers will join together to provide a festive atmosphere with live music during what can be a particularly isolating time. In addition to a full Thanksgiving meal, there will be music, entertainment, additional services on site and distribution of hygiene items and clothing.
