Assist in a Weekly Infomation Session with ONEgeneration

Every Sunday volunteers sign in at 7am and out at 1pm to help greet at the entrance gates and offer information about ONEgeneration services, help at the Bagel or Book booths, or assist a Farmers or small business for the day. This event is a walk in position so you can come any Sunday that you are available from 7am to 1pm, no partial shifts. When volunteers sign out at 1pm they will receive a completion letter for their hours if needed. If you have questions about this weekly volunteer event please email volunteer@onegeneration.org they hope to see you soon at the Encino Farmers Market! 100% of the proceeds from all ONEgeneration booths and entrance gates support the programs they offer the community.

Serve Breakfast to the Homeless with St. Francis Center

Since 1972, St. Francis Center has provided relief and support to homeless and extremely low-income individuals and families in Los Angeles. Much more than a soup kitchen or a food pantry, they offer a unique range of services to sustain and empower those in need. Welcoming all with joy, dignity and compassion, they dedicate every day to Serving Hope in their community. Event Description: This Breakfast program is part of their Homeless Well-Being Program. Their homeless and near-homeless brothers and sisters are welcome to join them for breakfast Monday through Friday at 7:30 am. They serve between 200 and 300 men and women each day. Help serve a hot breakfast meal in the morning before school or work for their guests experiencing homelessness. Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities: Volunteers will help staff with set-up for serve, and clean-up after breakfast. Breakfast service tasks include serving coffee, working in the kitchen, cleaning tables, resetting tables, and offering a smile. Requirements: Wear closed toe shoes and comfortable clothing. Time Commitment: Volunteers are needed from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Age Restrictions: They are happy to host volunteers ages 8+ (parent/guardian supervision required for volunteers ages 8-13). Help American Family Housing with their Thanksgiving Dinner Drive

American Family Housing (AFH) is a nonprofit that provides housing and supportive services to homeless and low-income families, individuals and veterans in Orange and Los Angeles counties. AFH is partnered with a few local supermarkets to fundraise donation that will go towards providing a complete Thanksgiving dinner to formerly homeless and low-income families and veterans in Orange County. These families face financial difficulties and your act of kindness will spread some joy to these families this holiday season! Volunteers will help with passing out flyers to bring awareness about the Thanksgiving dinner drive. Please note, store locations will be provided once you've signed up to volunteer.

Help Sort and Bag Toys for Acts of Compassion Inc

Christmas is approaching quickly and Acts of Compassion Inc need your help. Please join their team of Volunteers to help sort and bag toys. Volunteers also needed to check families in at the gate, reception area, assist event decoration team and monitor children at the event. They will work with your schedule Requirements: Must be at least 14. Need to go orientation or training.

Help Make Gift Boxes for CRI-Help, Inc’s Clients

Make gift boxes for all of their residential clients. After the donations are collected they gather the Tuesday before Christmas and all the staff take time to wrap each box which get distributed on Christmas morning. they are looking for hygiene products such as: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, shaving cream, razors, feminine hygiene, toothpaste, toothbrushes and towels. This are essential items since they have lots of indigent residential clients. Any brand any size is welcome.
