Help us distribute produce and food kits to our Cudahy neighbors! Volunteers are needed to help process clients, and distribute produce and nonperishable food kits. Volunteers 14+ are welcome.

Volunteers will assemble food packages for over 29,000 low income seniors, women with infants, and children in Los Angeles County. The food packages consist of food items like canned fruit, canned vegetables, rice, cereal and other non-perishable food items. Please sign-up using the registration link. No walk-ins allowed.

Covenant House California (CHC) is a non-profit youth shelter that provides sanctuary and support for youth experiencing homelessness, ages 18-24. We believe that no young person deserves to be homeless; that every young person in California deserves shelter, food, clothing, education É and most importantly, to be loved. We are hoping that Santa will visit again this year as this is a favorite surprise for our community. All volunteers need to be at least 25 years or older. We require the volunteers to be older than the demographic that we work with which is 18-24.

Join a car caravan to pick up fresh produce from Food Forward in Commerce and bring it back to St. James Park. Volunteers should meet at 10:30 am to caravan together and deliver produce to the park for distribution. New volunteers, please sign up and text Will at 417-527-3132 for instructions

Help prepare and serve lunch at Union Rescue Missions Angeles House (South LA)! Angeles House is their new campus that opened in April 2022. Angeles House is the home of about 86 families in South Los Angeles. Help them prepare and serve breakfast meals, to those that are sheltered within their facility. You must be at least 14 years to volunteer in the kitchen. Volunteers under the age of 18 are required to have an adult chaperone present. The chaperone also must be registered.

Volunteer at Winter Critter Camp 2024, running from December 23rd through January 3rd (excluding December 25th and January 1st), and make a difference by teaching children about pet responsibility! As a Junior Volunteer, you'll assist with setting up activities, managing children's behavior, supervising lunch and playtime, and supporting lessons on animal care for kids in PreK-6th grade. While you'll be around animals, the focus is on working with children, so volunteers should be reliable, independent, and enthusiastic about youth education. Shifts are from 8:00 am - 3:30 pm, with some extended care options until 5:00 pm. COVID-19 policies are observed to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. Apply early, and attend mandatory training on your first day to start this rewarding experience!

Help sort, prep, and distribute produce to community members at St. James Park (23 St. James Park, 90007). Volunteers should arrive around 11:50 am to assist with culling, sorting, and organizing the produce. This role supports efficient and equitable distribution to ensure each recipient receives quality produce

After sorting, volunteers can help transport prepared produce to community fridges. Plan to swing by St. James Park between 1:00 and 1:30 pm to load up your vehicle with produce, meals, and water. Volunteers will deliver these items directly to the community fridge assigned during sign-up.

Assist with sustainability efforts by collecting compost from the park and delivering it to LA Compost at the LA River Farmers Market or disposing of it in green bins. Plan to arrive at 1:30 pm to pick up the compost (up to 50 lbs) and help reduce waste while giving back to the community.

The Lucky Duck Food and Water Initiative has distributed more than 1.8 million meals to San Diego's unsheltered neighbors since May 2020. Volunteers help by packing and/or distributing food and water for homeless outreach teams to distribute to individuals living on the streets. Volunteers are necessary to keep the program running, so please consider signing up. Volunteer events take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays at our distribution sites in National City and the Midway District.
