Donate Wishlist Items to the Foster Youth at Assistance League of Los Angeles

Foster children are frequently moved from one home to another during a crisis with only the clothes on their backs. Foster Children’s Resource Center, a program of Assistance League of Los Angeles, provides emergency clothing and necessities to children referred by the Department of Children and Family Services. Located in Northridge, their center gives each child new school clothing, a jacket, pajamas, socks, underwear, personal care items, a backpack, school supplies, a book, and a toy. Each child is given personal attention and treated with dignity and respect, helping them to feel special. Social workers, foster parents and family members report that after visiting the Center, children experience a boost in self-esteem and improved school attendance and performance. How can you help? The Center is in need of brand new sports balls (e.g. soccer balls, basket balls, Nerf balls) and brand new infant and toddler toys (e.g. baby dolls, light up toys, Fisher Price classics). To learn more about the Foster Children’s Resource Center, click here for a video or visit https://assistanceleaguela.org/program/foster-childrens-resource-center/. To arrange for donation drop-offs, contact Kristin Muhl, Foster Children’s Resource Center Director, at muhlhouse@msn.com or call the Center at 818-701-0506.
