The Skid Row Community Refresh Spot is a grass roots community designed response to the public health crises in Skid Row. This hygiene center is open 7 days per week and 24 hrs per day. More than 600 users per day pass through the space which provides free showers, bathroom access, and limited laundry access. There is a need for supplementary resources (donations) to assist in meeting the community demand and enhancing the quality of service provided. Homeless Healthcare Los Angeles (HHCLA) is the lead organization operating the site and partners included Social Model Recovery, Goodwill, and Fidelity. The ReFresh Spot is in need of donations of shoes, undergarments, and socks for men and women (population is mainly adults). Drop off location for donations is HHCLA 512 E. 4th St., LA, CA 90013 (7:30AM-3:00PM). Other hygiene related items and culturally appropriate hair and skin care products are welcomed (population is predominately African American).
