Donate Non-perishable Items to The Volunteer Center

| Hannukah Other Ways to Help, Thanksgiving Christmas | November 1, 2018

The Volunteer Center’s Food for Kids Program provides bags of non-perishable food to eligible elementary school students in the South Bay, Harbor and Long Beach areas each week, so they can create healthy weekend meals. The bags are packed and delivered to the schools by volunteers every Friday during the school year, so the students can take the food home to their families. Each student receives a bag of meal-centered items that provide breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday for the average family of four. Teachers have told us that when their students receive this food over the weekend, they return to school on Monday mornings much more focused and ready to learn. The Volunteer Center’s Food for Kids Program is in need of non-perishable food items such as: Pasta Pasta, Sauce Canned Fruit 1-2 pound bags of Rice Beans Cereal Granola Bars Peanut Butter Jelly Macaroni and Cheese Can Tuna or Chicken
