Donate Items to the Community Center of La Cadada Flintridge’s Huge Foothill Holiday Food Drive
The Community Center of La Cadada Flintridge spearheads the largest Food Drive in the Foothill communities just in time for the holidays! Canned food is collected during the month of November at locations in La Cadada, La Crescenta and Montrose. Non-perishable food donations are distributed by the Crescenta Valley Sheriffs Station to local families in need. Drop off your food donations at the Community Center of La Cadada Flintridge during the month of November or bring your food donations to the Thanksgiving Day Run & Food Drive at Memorial Park. Donating food or store gift cards during the holidays is a rewarding way to give back to the community! Please donate all items by Nov. 21 at 3pm at The Community Center of La Cadada Flintridge OR on the morning of Nov. 22 at race location (Memorial Park, 1301 Foothill Blvd., La Cadada Flintridge, CA 91011). Did you know that each month, all year, Big Sunday hosts a food drive? It's called the End of the Month Club and it helps hungry and grateful people at nonprofits and schools throughout Los Angeles. In November, we are collecting thousands of Thanksgiving Food Items (nonperishable items, please) for dozens of local nonprofit organizations that assist hungry individuals and families. Help Provide Needed Items to Bienvenidos’ Thanksgiving Giveaway for Families
Bienvenidos is a compassionate community of care dedicated to healing children, strengthening families and transforming communities. With your help, their low-income clients will be able to choose donated clothes, toys, and more to brighten their holiday season during the organizations Thanksgiving Giveaway event. Donations of grocery store gift cards for the purchase a ham or turkey are also greatly appreciated. Items can be dropped off any time before the Nov. 21 event or arrangements can be made to pick up the items.
Donate Thanksgiving Food at Alexandria House
Alexandria House, a wonderful transitional shelter for women and children, is asking for food donations for Thanksgiving. Your donations are transformed into beautiful food baskets given to their large community of past and current residents and neighborhood families who are at-risk women, youths, and families. Donation items they're asking for are traditional Thanksgiving foods such as turkeys, yams, cranberry sauce, pies, etc. Please drop the donations off at their office located at 436 S. Adopt a Family for Thanksgiving
Adopt a Club Family For Thanksgiving! Every year the Antelope Valley Boys & Girls Club gathers baskets of blessings for those families most in need. Items consist of warm winter clothing (beanie's, gloves, jackets...), blankets, hygiene items, and grocery store gift cards for their Thanksgiving meal. They need donations of the following: Warm Winter Clothing (Hats, Socks, Beanies, Gloves, Scarfs, Jackets...) Blankets Hygiene Products (Soap, Shampoo, Deodorant, Toothbrushes, Toothpaste...) Help Griffith STEAM Magnet Middle School with their Food Collection
Griffith STEAM Magnet Middle School will be hosting a canned food drive and they will be creating food baskets for their students & families who are living in extreme poverty. Their goal is to create 20 baskets for their families (or more!). They are requesting donations from the community and are in need of the following non-perishable items to create the baskets: stuffing, canned green beans, canned yams, canned corn, canned vegetables, gravy (jar or dry mix), dry pie crust mix, canned pie filling, pie mixes, evaporated milk, canned fruit, cranberry sauce, canned mashed potatoes, apple sauce, canned soups, pasta, cereal, oatmeal, jello, gift cards to local grocery stores, and any other non-perishable items.

Assist Food Finders in their Holiday Food Drive
This year marks 29 years of Food Finders Holiday Food Drive, a community-wide effort that results in thousands of meals for those in-need during the holiday season. The drive kicks off October 1st and takes place throughout Long Beach, Los Angeles and Orange counties, continuing through December 31st. Food Finders engages neighborhoods, schools, libraries and businesses as drop-off locations for non-perishable food items and will supply collection bins to those interested in participating. The more participation community-wide, the more successful the Holiday Food Drive will be for families, individuals and children who receive the meal boxes via pantries and shelters that partner with Food Finders. In addition to collecting holiday meal staples, such as canned vegetables, stuffing, gravy, pie filling, etc., canned meats, pasta, pasta sauce, cookies and more, Food Finders will also be accepting pet food to help out pet owners and their four-legged friends. The Homeless Ed Program in Lynwood serves over 500 students at any given day in a community of roughly 15,000 students. they serve a largely immigrant population with a high unemployment rate, many of their students do not have a Thanksgiving meal to look forward to over the holidays. their 4th Annual Thanksgiving Basket Giveaway is scheduled to take place Wednesday, November 21, 2018. their goal is to provide 150 turkeys and food baskets to their neediest families. they are seeking donations like: turkeys, ham, gift cards (grocery stores like Superior, Food 4 Less, El Super) to donate during the event. The support of your organizations is key in supporting their homeless families and also a way that you can continue helping their students and families in their social and academics. Not only will your contribution be publicly recognized during the event, but this will also be a great opportunity for you to make an impact toward their neediest families in Lynwood! Drop off location will be at the Lynwood District Office in their Student Services Department. In a world of vitriol and division, live scores of orphaned children in the border region of Tecate. The boys and girls of Divine Mercy Orphanage are professionally cared for by the love and dedication of the Daughters of Divine Mercy and the staff and volunteers. Love is abundant but so is uncertainty, fear and the anxiety of our times. The children could use a lift over the holidays with donations of school supplies, clothing and of course, toys. The staff could use household supplies and hygiene products, as well as funding to complete necessary facility requirements and repairs.
