Donate Toys for Underserved Kids at Wilson Park

We are supporting the skateboard population, because we found out some are homeless, in foster care, dysfunctional households, group homes, transitional housing. ICCDYF want then to have a happy holiday. We will host a toy giveaway for the skateboarders at Wilson Park. We will have a skateboard competition, with food, prizes and awards. The age is open to 5-25 years old. Donations of toys, can be dropped off at Wilson Park. 123 Rose St, Compton 90221.

Watch Bolsa Chica Conservancy’s Live Animal Feeding

Join the Bolsa Chica Conservancy at their weekly Live Animal Feedings to witness firsthand the feeding behavior of California native animals! If you're looking to get out of the house and learn about local animals, join them in person for their weekly live animal feeding! Here you will be able to learn more about the animals at the Interpretive Center, including snakes, sharks, crabs, and much more! During the feeding, they will cover topics like feeding habits and the general biology and anatomy of reptiles and marine animals! This is a free event but donations are always welcome to help with the cost of caring for and feeding their animals. They hope to see you there! Spaces are very limited due to COVID-19 social distancing protocols, so please contact jeannette@bolsachica.org if you can no longer attend. *This presentation may also be recorded and live-streamed on their YouTube channel and Facebook Live. Fight Food Insecurity by Supporting Karsh Center’s 17th Annual Big Give

On November 24, 2024, the Karsh Center will once again welcome our community for the 17th Annual Big Give. Through this special program, we will distribute 1,000 Thanksgiving meal kits to our registered guests, impacting over 4,000 individuals in our community and ensuring they experienced the warmth and nourishment of a Thanksgiving meal.The Big Give is impossible without the support of our generous donors, volunteers, and sponsors. Each gift of $100 can help us ensure a family has a full Thanksgiving meal. Please help us support our neighbors experiencing food insecurity!

Assemble Thanksgiving Food Packages For Low-Income Folks at LARFB

Volunteers will assemble food packages for over 29,000 low income seniors, women with infants, and children in Los Angeles County. The food packages consist of food items like canned fruit, canned vegetables, rice, cereal and other non-perishable food items. Please sign-up using the registration link. No walk-ins allowed.

Volunteer at Hollywood Food Coalition’s Thanksgiving Dinner

This upcoming Thanksgiving Day, Hollywood Food Coalition will host our Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner where we will serve a seated turkey meal with all the fixings for 300 of our community members experiencing homelessness or food insecurity. Hundreds of volunteers will join together to provide a festive atmosphere with live music during what can be a particularly isolating time. In addition to a full Thanksgiving meal, there will be music, entertainment, additional services on site and distribution of hygiene items and clothing.

Ascencia relies on donations from the community to fund their life-saving programs including street outreach, case management, emergency housing, mental health and wellness services, and more.
