They have two shifts Monday through Friday: 8:00 a.m. _ 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 _ 3:30 p.m. they also have one weekend shift on Sunday from 8:00 a.m. _ 12:30 p.m.

The One Voice Holiday Food Program needs you! Its that time of year when One Voice gathers all of their friends together to provide food baskets to over 12,500 people. Join them to help sort, package and give out the food. They are once again sorting and packaging the food in the Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport. Please Note: This is the day of the giveaway! The families will be coming to pick up the food and toys from each designated center. Volunteers are needed to let each family know how much they are cared for. Please meet at the hangar at 8:00 am for assignments to specific centers. Each year Better With Books gives brand new books to thousands of kids living below the poverty line in LAs neediest neighborhoods. For many, it is the first book they have ever owned. Their mission is to break the cycle of poverty and change the story by giving kids in need the key skill to improve their lives - reading - so they can contribute to society and make their shared future brighter. There are lots of opportunities to help! HOLIDAY BOOK GIVEAWAY - Join Better With Books on Sunday, December 23 from 8:30 am to 2:30pm as part of a Book Giveaway Team to put brand new books in the hands of delighted kids at a festive holiday event with Santa, toys and tons of food baskets. Volunteers are needed for the entire event to assist with set-up and clean up, and theyll get to give lots of hugs and warm holiday wishes too! Event locations are throughout Los Angeles. Team Leaders, info and directions will be provided in advance. Snacks, lunch and beverages will be provided. This family friendly activity is best for children 10 and up, accompanied by a parent or guardian. Uplifting for everyone. they guarantee you will have fun while getting hands-on to make a difference! Deadline to RSVP and get on a Book Giving Team is Friday, December 7th. Assist in a Weekly Infomation Session with ONEgeneration

Every Sunday volunteers sign in at 7am and out at 1pm to help greet at the entrance gates and offer information about ONEgeneration services, help at the Bagel or Book booths, or assist a Farmers or small business for the day. This event is a walk in position so you can come any Sunday that you are available from 7am to 1pm, no partial shifts. When volunteers sign out at 1pm they will receive a completion letter for their hours if needed. If you have questions about this weekly volunteer event please email volunteer@onegeneration.org they hope to see you soon at the Encino Farmers Market! 100% of the proceeds from all ONEgeneration booths and entrance gates support the programs they offer the community.

Lend a Hand with AHEAD With Horses’ Saturday Volunteer Program #8

Just because it's the holidays you can't forget their 4-legged friends! AHEAD With Horses needs volunteers every Saturday (unless otherwise noted) at their Shadow Hills facility. Volunteers will assist in providing developmental therapy to children with disabilities. Duties include: Leading horses, spotting (walking along side the horse), grooming, cleaning tack, weeding, raking, etc. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old and if under 18, an adult must come to sign a liability release form at their first session. Dress code: must wear closed-toe shoes, long pants and a shirt with sleeves (t-shirt is fine; no tank tops). Come out and volunteer with Audobon! Join them in and around their native plant nursery where they propagate plants and maintain habitat restoration sites. Activities include watering, weeding, mulching, berm building and repair, seed collection, processing and sowing, potting, and planting. Learn about native plants and local bird species as you restore important native habitat within more than 17 acres around the center. Put your hands in some soil and bird while you build habitat! They need you, but more importantly, their neighBIRDS need you! Be sure to bring lots of water, sun protection, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty! Remember to wear closed-toe shoes and dress in layers. Please fill out the downloadable waiver below and bring it with you to your first day.
