Help Spread Holiday Cheer for the Children at ECF Kayne Eras School

ECF Kayne Eras School has a special day each year where they display donations and their students are able to select presents for themselves and their siblings. Students are escorted 1:1 in a private setting so they can select what they really want and need. This annual event is made possible by the generous donations they receive. For many of their students, these are the only holiday gifts they get. Please consider donating board games, toys, stuffed animals, ear buds, and backpacks for students ages 5-22. A toy drive is a great way to engage friends, family or co-workers in spreading holiday cheer to those in need. Exceptional Children's Foundation Kayne Eras School serves children with special needs, many of whom live in low-income households. Help them brighten their holidays by collecting new, unwrapped toys or other gift items. Gifts for Christmas/Hanukkah must be delivered by Friday, December 14. Home-SAFE is planning a Holiday Party (X-mas, Hanukkah & Kwanzaa) for Saturday Dec 8, 2018 at the LA Zoo for poverty level families with children ages 0-12 years of age. They will be offer zoo entrance, lunch, arts & crafts and gifts., Home-SAFE is planning a Holiday Party (Hanukkah/Christmas/Kwanza) at the LA Zoo on Dec 8, 2018. Their guests will be poverty level families who are enrolled in their Early Head Start and child abuse prevention programs. They will be offering zoo entrance, lunch, arts & crafts and small gifts. they do not have funding to have their children ages 0-8 years of age ride the zoo merry - go- round. They expect approximately 100 children. (tickets for children are $3.00 each) They would be grateful for any donation that you can offer.

Empower Children Through the Arts for the Holidays

The mission of Free Arts is to use art to restore hope, resilience and self-esteem in children in Los Angeles ages 4-18 who have experienced abuse, neglect, poverty and/or homelessness. They depend on a team of committed volunteers to make this possible. If you would like to spend a few hours a week this Holiday Season doing art projects with children as they wait for their hearings in dependency court you can attend the volunteer mentor training on either November 19th or December 17th from 12 to 3pm at the Edmund D. Provide Gifts for Homeless Youth of My Friend’s Place

My Friends Place is a great drop-in resource center in Hollywood offering comprehensive health, education and therapeutic services each year to 1,400 homeless youth and their children. This holiday season, My Friends Place would like to deliver gifts to 250 homeless youth during their December 14 Holiday Party. They are in need of the following items: $10 gift cards (grocery stores, Target, CVS, etc.); $10 fast food gift cards (Subway, Jack In The Box, El Pollo Loco, etc.); new scarves and gloves; new hoodies (all adult sizes); new sleeping bags; new headphones/earbuds. PATH is moving thousands of individuals, Veterans, and families off the streets and into permanent housing every year. Check out the following volunteer opportunities: Adopt a Site! Host a holiday party at one of their shelters or supportive housing communities. They are searching for volunteer groups that can decorate community spaces, host a holiday party, and provide gifts. This is perfect if your group can provide holiday support for 30 - 100+ individuals. Locations include Winnetka, North Hollywood, Gardena, Long Beach, Del Rey, Koreatown, Highland Park as well as Santa Barbara and San Diego. Jingle Bags! While they understand that volunteers often gravitate towards supporting families during the holiday season, they rely on our supporters to help make sure we support Veterans, senior, and chronically homeless adults as well! Sponsor Jingle Baskets for a variety of PATH programs. Help Make the Holidays Cheerful for the Seniors at CUlver City Senior Citizens Association

Looking for a cool way to share the spirit of giving this holiday season? Culver City Senior Citizens Association is asking volunteers to donate stockings or holiday gift bags filled with five gender-neutral toiletries _ a toothbrush, toothpaste, a bar of soap, shampoo/conditioner and deodorant. These much-appreciated gifts will be distributed during the December Socialites dance for adults with developmental disabilities on Dec. 15 where Santa will make a special appearance! The organization aims to provide 120 guests gifts, so come together with family, friends or co-workers to put a smile on the faces of these seniors this holiday season. Donations of toiletries such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, bar soap, shampoo/conditioner and deodorant are greatly appreciated and can be dropped off by Wed., Dec. 15 at the Center M-F, 9 am _ 4 pm or on weekends, 12 pm _ 4 pm.
