Help Put Books in the Hands of Kids in Need with Better With Books

Each year Better With Books provides thousands of brand new books to thousands of kids living below the poverty line in LA's neediest neighborhoods. For many, it is the first book they have ever owned. Their mission is to break the relentless cycle of poverty and change the story by giving kids in need the key skill to improve their lives, contribute to society and make their shared future brighter. There are lots of opportunities to help! BOOK SORT - On Wednesday, December 19th, from 6PM _ 8PM, they need tons of volunteers to sort, count, and box books to prepare for their Holiday Book Giveaway. This is a family-friendly event and children ages 5 and up are welcome with a parent or guardian; teens are welcome with adult supervision. Please RSVP at www.betterwithbooks.org/events Come for all or part of this event. Follow the signs for Better With Books. Dress casually and comfortably _ book sorting can be dusty work. Free parking available. If you cant join us at one of their events, you can support their efforts by making a tax-deductible donation so they can purchase great books for kids at a big discount. $5 puts a brand new book in the hands of child. Honor or gift someone with a donation made in their name. With any donation, you will receive a link to an e-card that you can send in celebration of someone special. The excitement, astonishment and joy of having a book to call their own will bring big smiles to their faces _ and to yours!
